New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday wrote to her Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu condemning Wednesday's car bomb attack in Ankara that killed 28 people.

"EAM writes to her Turkish counterpart, condemns #AnkaraAttack & says it is reminder of the necessity of concerted action against terrorism," external affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup tweeted.

At least 28 people were killed and 61 wounded in a car bomb attack targeting the Turkish military in Ankara on Wednesday, Turkey's deputy prime minister and government spokesperson said.

Ankara Governor Mehmet Kiliclar said the authorities believe that the explosion was caused by a "bomb-laden vehicle".

The bomb targeted the housing complex in Ankara where shuttles for military personnel were waiting, according to the Turkish military, triggering two explosions near a military compound of the headquarters of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Turkish media reported. (IANS)
