Odissa

Bhubaneswar: The 67th Republic Day was celebrated in Odisha on Tuesday, with Governor S.C. Jamir hoisting the Tricolour and taking salute at a parade here.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hoisted the national flag at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack. In his speech, Patnaik described Odisha as a model state in the field of social security.

People across the state celebrated the day. In tribal areas, Maoist calls to boycott the official celebrations failed to evoke any response. (IANS)
