LONDON: Social networking site Twitter is used by a whopping 50,000 ISIS supporters to spread vile propaganda and the authorities of the platform refrain from reporting the jihadis’ tweets to anti-terror cops in many cases. The Daily Star reported, Senior executive Nick Pickles has admitted Twitter does not ‘pre-actively notify’ police about tweets by crazed jihadists. Pickles insisted Twitter is prepared to fight the ISIS propaganda machine, saying the issue is ‘taken seriously across the top ranks of the company’.The site has removed tens of thousands of accounts in relation to violent extremism in the last year, Pickles added. Pickles confirmed that the site works with authorities to ensure that they do not disrupt probes into suspected terrorists. Last year it emerged Twitter bosses tip off users about requests for their account information ‘unless we're prohibited’.
