Two Terrorists Neutralised in Jammu and Kashmir; Encounter Underway

SRINAGAR: Two terrorists have been neutralised in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Handwara area of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir today.A fierce gun-battle is underway as the area has been cordoned off.A senior police officer here told, "Security forces surrounded a house in Beigh Mohalla area today (Friday) morning."

"When the forces closed on the house where militants were hiding, they came under heavy gunfire from the militants.

"Firing exchanges are still going on in the area," the official added.Security forces are trying to smoke out and neutralise the remaining terrorists who are believed to be hiding in the area.More details awaited.
