The ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu has forged an alliance with PMK ahead of forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
An agreement to this effect was signed by AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam and Joint Coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswamy and the PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss and its president GK Mani in Chennai today.
As per the agreement, seven Parliamentary seats will be given to the PMK to contest, besides a Rajya Sabha seat that gets vacant later this year. The PMK has also agreed to extend its support during the impending bye-polls to the 21 Assembly seats that are lying vacant in the state.
The AIADMK is also talking to the BJP for an alliance. The BJP poll in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Union Minister Piyush Goel has held talks on the 14th of this month in Chennai. He is set to hold the second round of talks with the AIADMK leadership today in Chennai. (AIR)
