India calls for adequate resources for troops in UN peacekeeping missions

India's Permanent Representative to the UN Syed Akbaruddin has called for adequate resources for the Indian troops in UN peacekeeping missions.

He was speaking at a General Debate on Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations. He said that under-resourced Blue Helmets cannot accomplish their mandated tasks.

The three-week session will focus on some of the pressing issues facing the more than 100,000 military, police and civilian personnel from 125 countries currently serving in 14 operations (AIR NEWS)
