news

The third and final Shahi Snan of the Kumbh Mela is taking place on the occasion of Basant Panchami in Prayagraj this morning. Devotees are taking bath now. Saints and seers of various Akharas will shortly take a holy dip at Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.

Massive security arrangements have been made for the bathing. Prayagraj Mela Authority has claimed that about 2 crore devotees will take holy dip on the occasion. Mela administration has developed 8 km long 40 bathing ghats for devotees.

After Basant Panchami, there will be two more main bathing festivals, Maghi Purnima on 19th of this month and Mahashivratri on 4th of next month which will be the end of Kumbh Mela.

So far, more than thirteen crore pilgrims have taken the holy dip since the start of the Mela on the 15th of last month. (AIR)
