11 killed as elevator cable snaps at work Site in China


In China, eleven workers were killed and two seriously injured when an elevator at a construction site in the city of Hengshui, in Hebei province fell due to snapped cable today. According to Chinese media, the accident occurred around 8 a.m. It is the latest in a series of deadly industrial incidents in the country. In March, 78 people were killed in a blast at a chemical plant in the eastern city of Yancheng.
