173 nominations found valid after scrutiny for Lok Sabha seats in Delhi


As many as 173 nominations have been found valid after scrutiny for seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. According to Delhi Chief Electoral office, 439 nominations were filed on these seats.

Maximum 30 nominations have been accepted from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, while North West Constituency has lowest number of 13 nominations.

Earlier in the day, Aam Aadmi Party had raised objections to nominations filed by BJP candidates, Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi and Gautam Gambhir from East Delhi seat alleging shortcomings in their documents, which has been rejected by the poll authorities.

Friday is the last date for withdrawal of candidature. All the seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital are expected to witness a triangular contest between BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party. Delhi will go to poll in a single phase on 12th May. (AIR NEWS)
