3-day national conference of DGPs, IGPs begins today

A 3-day annual national conference of DGPs and IGPs will begin in Pune this evening. The conference is to be held at two venues - Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research in Baner and the Centre for Policy Research in Pashan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Pune this weekend to attend the annual three-day meet of officers of Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police rank from all States.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, heads of Central investigative and intelligence agencies, and paramilitary forces are also attending this conference.

The theme of the conference this year is to promote scientific and forensics-based investigation as well as technology-enabled policing. Today the inaugural session is expected to be addressed by Home Minister, the Prime Minister is to address the valedictory session on December 8. (AIR NEWS)
