The government today announced five percent Dearness Allowance for Central Government employees and pensioners. Briefing media after Cabinet meeting in New Delhi, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, it will benefit 50 lakh Central Government employees and 65 lakh, pensioners.
He described this as a Diwali gift from the government and added that this will be paid from July 2019. The government has sanctioned a relief package for the displaced Kashmiri families, in which 5,300 displaced families will be given 5.5 lakh rupees per family.
These families were earlier left out as they had settled elsewhere in the country but came back to Kashmir later. Mr. Javadekar said the decision will provide justice to these displaced families.
Union Cabinet has also decided to relax till 30th November 2019, the mandatory requirement of Aadhaar seeding for release of benefits under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi after 1st August 2019. (AIR NEWS)
