Additional list to draft NRC to be published in today

The Additional list to draft National Register of Citizens, NRC, will be published in Assam today. The draft list will be published at 10 am for public view at designated NRC Seva Kendras, the office of the Deputy Commissioners, SDOs (circle) and Circle Officers. The list will also be uploaded in the www.nrcassam.nic.in.

The NRC authority said, the list will contain only the names of those persons who figured in the complete draft NRC published on July 30, 2018, but were subsequently found ineligible for inclusion, the NRC authorities said.

In the online list, the ineligible persons will be highlighted as “excluded in additional list” while the names of the others will remain the same. It will not contain the results of the disposal of claims and objections.

The name of 40 lakh people did not appear in the NRC draft list published on 30th July. Presently the claims and objections process is also being carried out by the administrations. (AIR NEWS)
