Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan today expressed satisfaction that due to a timely decision on temporary price rise of Tur or Arhar Dal, prices seem to have stabilised within a week.
Chairing a meeting with key officials in New Delhi this morning, Mr Paswan reviewed the progress made so far on several important functions of his Ministry.
The Minister monitored the prices of Pulses and other essential commodities on a dashboard that has been specially designed to improve reporting and reviewing.
Mr Paswan also checked the vacancy position in various consumer fora across the nation and asserted that all the vacancies must be filled immediately.
He asked Secretary, Consumer Affairs to write to all Chief Ministers of States to fill vacancies in their respective State Commissions at the earliest. He also inspected the total number of cases registered, disposed and pending with the National Consumer Helpline and said that cases should be disposed of in a swift manner.
The Minister also insisted on dealing with all pending court cases immediately where the department is a party and demanded a daily analysis of the same. (AIR NEWS)
