Bangladesh maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three as low pressure area formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas on Tuesday.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to come closer to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
The National Disaster Response Co-ordination Centre under Disaster Management and Relief Ministry issued the warning on Tuesday.
According to the Meteorological department classification Cautionary signal 3 means that the port is threatened by squally weather with wind speed of 40-50 kms/hour. (AIR NEWS)
