In Bihar, campaign against malnutrition will be launched on a large scale. This move has been taken after deaths of children due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome(AES).
Director of Integrated Child Development project( ICDS) Alok Kumar said awareness programme is being undertaken in Encephalitis affected 20 districts including Muzaffarpur, Vaishali and Samastipur.
The death toll due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Muzaffarpur and adjoining areas has touched 177 with six more deaths reported in the last 24 hours. Four deaths have been reported from Muzaffarpur while one each from Siwan and Vaishali.
45 children are undergoing treatment in Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH) and Kejriwal hospital. The Superintendent of SKMCH SK Sahi said, 225 children have so far been discharged after treatment. (AIR NEWS)
