Coronavirus: Mass promotion of students in Gujarat

In Gujarat, the government today announced mass promotion for students of class 1 to 9 and class 11 to upper standard without exams. The decision was taken in wake of rapid spread of covid 19 and uncertainty over the lockdown.

Secretary to Chief Minister , Ashwini Kumar announced this today in Gandhinagar. He said the decision was taken to ensure safety of students. The government already declared the closure of all the educational institutions including tuition classes up to March 31.

Mr Kumar further said the state has taken necessary steps to ensure sufficient supplies of essential commodities to the state from within and outside the state. Mr Kumar added that all the essential services like electricity, water, gas electricity are functional in the state. AIR correspondent reports that state reported 33 positive cases for Covid 19 so far. (AIR)
