Dense fog, cold wave continue to sweep different parts of country, particularly North India


India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to continue over North India during the next five days. The weather agency said that the cold wave to severe cold wave conditions will continue over the plains of Northwest India during the next three days. IMD also said that the minimum temperatures are in the range of 2°C to 5°C over isolated pockets of north Rajasthan and south Haryana and 6°C to 10°C over most parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 2.4°C was reported at Bikaner in Rajasthan and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The weather agency said, dense fog conditions will prevail in the morning hours in isolated pockets of Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura till the 23rd of January. Passengers have been advised to drive on the highway with extreme caution and with fog lights. (AIR NEWS)
