Drishyam model murder in Kerala; victim's body found buried inside newly constructed house

KOTTAYAM: In a strange incident, police unearthed a murder case, which was planned and implemented in the model of a Malayalam movie ‘Drishyam’ in Changanassery.

The deceased was identified as Bindumon 43, who hailed from Aryad in Alappuzha. The remains were recovered after digging the floor of a house in the colony near Poovam AC Canal Road. After completing the inquest in the presence of the Tehsildar, the body was shifted to the hospital for postmortem examination.

It is suspected that Bindumon, a native of Alappuzha, went missing September 26. Police started investigating the matter after his relatives filed a missing person case with the Alappuzha North Police.

Police traced his mobile phone to the Changanassery tower location and also found that the last person Bindumon called was his friend Muthukumar, a native of Poovam. Though police searched Muthukumar’s house, they didn’t get any evidence.

During the investigation in the area, it was found that construction work had been done in the house in the last few days and the foundation of the house had been excavated and concrete had been poured.

The police team has received information that the construction of the house was done recently. Based on this, the police started an investigation. Changanassery Tehsildar reached the place and conducted the inspection as per the instructions of the RDO. He is suspected to have been killed and buried inside the house.

Meanwhile, the police found the victim's bike from Vakathanam on Friday. Following this, an investigation was started focusing on Changanassery and police reached out again to Muthukumar. Then a police team led by Changanassery Station House Officer Richard Varghese on Saturday morning dug the newly concreted area and found the body, which was tied in a sack. (THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS)
