Early trend shows NDA leading in over 300 seats

Counting the votes for the 17th Lok Sabha has begun. According to latest updates, NDA is leading in 332, UPA in 100 and others in 99 seats. BJP alone is leading in 291 seats and Congress 51. DMK 22, JDU 16, Shiv Sena 19, Telugu Desam 1, YSR Congress 24, TRS 9, BSP 12, SP 8, Trinamool Congress 25, Biju Janata Dal 12 and others 9.

Prominent candidates who are leading include Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Party Chief Amit Shah, Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Hansraj Ahir, Poonam Mahajan and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

In Delhi Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is drawing a blank in Delhi, with both its star candidates Atishi Marlena and Raghav Chadha trailing. Former Delhi chief minister and Congress leader Sheila Dikshit is trailing in North East Delhi, where she is pitched against actor and BJP leader Manoj Tiwari.

Raghuvansh Prasad Singh of the RJD is trailing in Vaishali in Bihar. Meanwhile, the SP-BSP alliance is leading in 24 seats in Uttar Pradesh, with the BSP ahead in 15 and the SP in nine. (INDIAONLINE)
