Flood situation improves in Nepal

In Nepal, the situation in rain-affected areas is slowly improving. Relief operation is underway and efforts are on to resume essential services. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 84 persons have lost their lives in the last one week due to floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain.

Thirty-four persons are still missing and forty-one have been injured. Normal life in 34 districts, mostly in the Tarai region, has been affected due to heavy rain. More than 13,000 households displaced by floods and landslides. Over 3,000 people have been safely rescued by the security personnel.

Relief material is being distributed in the affected areas and medical teams have been sent to prevent waterborne diseases. According to Flood Forecasting Division, the water level in all major and medium rivers is on or normal level and likely to recede tomorrow.

Weathermen forecast rain at some places in the country and there are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places. (AIR NEWS)
