Four officers of Patiala Central Jail dismissed from service


Punjab Jail Department has dismissed four officers of Patiala Central Jail for violating the jail manuals with impunity and patronizing extortion, torture, inhuman treatment and unnatural acts.

Disclosing this, Punjab Jails Minister, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that an inquiry was entrusted to IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh regarding the allegations levelled by the family members of inmates.

The minister said, pursuant to the inquiry, the then Superintendent Central Jail Patiala Rajan Kapoor, Assistant Superintendents Central Jail Patiala Vikas Sharma and Sukhjinder Singh and Head Warder Central Jail Patiala, Pragan Singh have been ordered to be dismissed from the service. (AIR NEWS)
