The government has decided to import one lakh tonnes of onion to control price rise in the market.
In a tweet, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that the Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC) has been asked to import onions and make the vegetable available for distribution for a month, between 15th of this month and 15th of December.
The NAFED has been directed to supply imported onions across the country. (AIR)
