Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the NDA government has begun to move in the right direction, without diversion or dilution. He said the 2019 Lok Sabha elections have shown that the people are thinking about the betterment of the country over themselves and the spirit is commendable.
Replying to debate on Motion of Thanks to the President’s address to the joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament today, Mr. Modi said, he never thinks about polls in terms of victory and defeat but as an opportunity to serve 130 crore Indians.
The Prime Minister said, the government did not deviate from its development path and did not dilute its development agenda. He added that it is important that the country progresses and every Indian is empowered. He said the government and the opposition have to work together to fulfil the dream of a strong, safe, developed and inclusive nation.
The Prime Minister said, after Independence, the country has accepted a culture in which common people had to struggle with the system for their basic rights.
In an apparent attack on Congress, Mr. Modi said the party has risen so high that it has been uprooted from the ground unlike BJP’s aim to remain closer to the people at the grassroots and strengthen them.
The Prime Minister rejected the allegation of not giving credit to previous governments at the Centre and different states. Remembering the Emergency dark period, imposed in 1975, Mr Modi said this can never be wiped out from the peoples’ memory. (AIR NEWS)
