Gujarat BJP gears up for by-elections to 8 vacant Assembly seats

Gujarat BJP has geared up for by-elections to 8-seats in the state. According to State party spokesperson Bharat Pandya, State party vice president Bhargav Bhatt and former Minister Shankar Chaudhary will coordinate the overall management and preparations for the coming by-elections. Mr. Pandya said that two in-charges for each of the 8 seats have been appointed. One in-charge has been appointed from a party organization, while the other is from the government.

These decisions had been taken in a core group meeting of State BJP held at party headquarters in Gandhinagar. BJP’s national joint organizational secretary V. Satish, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, State party president Jitu Vaghani and others were present. AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that 8 assembly seats in the state fell vacant following the resignation of Congress MLAs. The 8 seats are Abdasa, Karjan, Dang, Kaprada, Morbi, Limbdi, Gadhada and Dhari. (AIR)
