Gujarat Government is to develop Centers of Excellence for skill development in the Aviation industry. This was announced by Captain Ajay Chauhan, Director of Civil Aviation- Government of Gujarat at 2nd Gujarat Aviation Conclave Conference on Business Opportunities in the aviation sector held in Ahmedabad.
The one day power packed conclave was jointly organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Limited, Dholera Industrial City Development Limited and Airports Authority of India.
Captain Chauhan said that the Gujarat government is focusing on identifying land which can be used for the future growth of airports. He said that work of development of the Rajkot airport is already in progress.
He said that state government is also focusing on Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO). Such facility is already available in Ahmedabad and similar centres will be set up in Rajkot and Ankleshwar.
The state government is tying up with Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) to bring up new courses and new aviation institutes, where youth can get training. (AIR NEWS)
