news

In the ICC Cricket World Cup, chasing a victory target of 308 runs, Pakistan were 148 for 5 in 28 overs against Australia at Taunton a short-while ago.

Earlier, put into bat, Australia were all out for 307 in 49 overs. While David Warner scored a superb 107, Captain Aaron Finch made 82. For Pakistan, Mohammad Amir took five wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed two and Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riazone and Hasan Ali one each.

Tomorrow, India will face New Zealand at 3 pm in Nottingham. India have won their first two games against South Africa and Australia. Meanwhile, India's Assistant Coach Sanjay Bangar said that a final decision on Shikhar Dhawan's availability at the ongoing World Cup will be taken only after 10 to 12 days as he is too precious to be ruled out.

Dhawan will miss three to four games due to the hairline fracture on his left thumb and Rishabh Pant will join the team as cover in Manchester ahead of the clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday. Mr. Bangar's statement means that Dhawan will be out of the games against New Zealand tomorrow, Pakistan on Sunday, Afghanistan on 22nd and West Indies on the 27th of this month. (AIR NEWS)
