The Centre has taken a number of initiatives to ensure a smooth supply of medical supplies amid lockdown. Indian Railways has geared up its efforts to produce Personal Protective Equipment, PPEs on a mission mode.
AIR reports that Railways workshops are being geared up to produce one thousand PPE overall every day for railway Doctors and paramedics. The production facilities will be ramped up in the future.
Railways are also considering to supply 50 percent of PPE material to other medical professionals of the country. The PPE overall produced by the Jagadhari workshop was recently cleared by the Defence Research and Development Organization’s lab. Approved design and material will now be used for making protective overall by 17 railway workshops situated in different zones.
The PPE overall will offer much-needed protection to Railways' Doctors and paramedics working as front line warriors for treating the corona patients. (AIR NEWS)
