Intense western disturbance likely to affect western himalayan region from next two to three days

The India Meteorological Department,( IMD) has said that due to intense western disturbance, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to receive moderate rainfall and snowfall in the next two to three days.

In its weather bulletin, the agency also predicted light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm activity over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh from the 23rd to 26th of January. As per IMD, the National Capital is also likely to get light to moderate rainfall from the 24th to the 27th of January.

The agency, however, predicted that there would be no significant cold wave conditions over north India during the next week. However, isolated pockets over northwest India are likely to experience cold wave conditions from the 26th of January to the 1st of February.

The IMD said, the minimum temperatures are in the range of 4-7 degree celsius over many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and 7 to10 degree celsius over many parts of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and in isolated pockets of Bihar and north Madhya Pradesh. (AIR NEWS)
