According to Police, a police party of Police Station Nowgam during routine checking at Lasjan Crossing on the National Highway spotted three suspicious individuals coming from Lasjan towards Highway carrying a blue colour cricket kit bag and trying to avoid the naka checking party. However, they were tactfully apprehended by the alert naka party.

During checking of the said kit bag, Indian currency cash amounting to more than thirty-one lakh of rupees, one Mobile Phone, and three pages of LeT letter pad was recovered. On personal search of the other two persons, five pages each of LeT letter pad were recovered.

During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the trio were working as terrorist associates of the proscribed terror outfit LeT. The money was received by them as a part of a conspiracy to strengthen its cadres within district Srinagar.
