Lakhs of devotees are taking holy dips in various rivers and worshipping Lord Shiva on the occasion of Mahashivratri in the state. The administration has made elaborate arrangements at Shiv temples and for today’s snan at Sangam which will also mark the end of Magh Mela.

AIR correspondent reports, amid the chants of Har Har Mahadev and Jai Shiv Shambhu, devotees are worshipping Lord Shiva at the various temples across the state. At the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, long queues of devotees can be seen from midnight who have reached from all across the country to worship lord Shiva on this auspicious day.

UP Police has made special arrangements for the kanwarias who will worship lord Shiva today people are taking a holy dip at Sangam, the confluence of River Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati in Prayagraj. After the bath Devotees are offering prayers at different temples of Lord Shiva. The Shiv Mahotsav and Shiv Barat will also be a centre of attraction today. (AIR NEWS)
