In Boxing, six-time world champion MC Mary Kom will fight for the Gold medal at the second edition of the India Open International Tournament at Guwahati in Assam this afternoon. In the 51 kg Final, Mary Kom will take on Vanlal Duati of Mizoram. The veteran Manipuri boxer had won a Bronze in the 48 kg category at the 2012 London Olympics.
48 kg division is now no longer there in the Olympic Games, which is why she is competing in the higher 51 kg ahead of next year's Tokyo Games. Several other Indian pugilists will also play for Gold medals in different categories today.
These include 17 Indians had stormed into the Final in 10 weight categories. (AIR NEWS)
