National Science Day being observed today

Today is National Science Day. The day is observed to mark the discovery of Raman effect by Physicist C V Raman on 28th February, 1928. The objective is to spread the message of importance of science and its application among the people. This year the theme for the National Science Day is, 'Science for the People and the People for Science'.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu paid tributes to Sir C V Raman on National Science Day today. In a tweet, Mr Naidu called upon all scientists and researchers to use science and technology to improve the living conditions of people. He said, Lab to Land should be the focus. (AIR)
