New Delhi: National Testing Agency (NTA) is planning to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) twice a year from the year 2021.
Although the exam schedule for the NEET 2020 will remain unaffected and the authorities are still planning on this new idea, so we haven’t received any brief details yet.
As per the statement of NTA Director Vineet Joshi, the changes are made only under student’s requests. He said that after evaluating all the request which is made by the medical aspirants, the plan of the proposal is being prepared and will be presented before the Ministry of Health.
Why the requirement
This exam will be conducted for the students who have failed to qualify and have missed the exam, can get one more chance to appear and it will help to save them from wasting a year. This will improve the number of candidates qualifying for the examination.
Regarding NEET 2020
NEET 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on May 3. The online registration for the same will commence on December 2, 2019. This year more than 15 lakh aspirants had registered for NEET 2019 and with the merger of AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS with NEET, the registrations are likely to increase. (INDIA ONLINE)
