Northern Army Commander visits Rajouri to review operational preparedness

In Jammu and Kashmir, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday visited the frontier district Rajouri and held a meeting with field commanders of Ace of Spades Division and Romeo Force to review the operational preparedness.

Our Jammu Correspondent reports that the Army Commander, Northern Command reviewed the operational preparedness and appreciated the troops for maintaining the highest levels of preparedness. The twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch are under high alert after terror-related incidents in the last two months, especially after the terrorist attack at the Bhata Dhurian area of Poonch district and an encounter at Kesari Hills in the Budhal area of Rajouri district.

The army is carrying out a flush-out operation called 'Operation Trinetra' to track and eliminate terrorists who are active in the Pir Panjal region. Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh on April 28 stated that around 12 terrorists are active in this area who are involved in different terror incidents involving Bhata Dhurian ambush attack.
