Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary, Yoshihide Suga said in Tokyo today that Japan is not holding any talks with the United States for revising their 1960 Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security.
On Tuesday, media reported that US President Donald Trump was thinking of pulling his country out of the treaty. Suga said, in general, the Japanese and US obligations under the 1960 treaty are balanced and the claims about one-sidedness in the agreement are not relevant.
The Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security was signed in 1960, replacing the 1951 Security Treaty between the two nations. (AIR NEWS)
