They say out of the most fragile things, 'young minds' stands at front and indeed it is true. Especially in a country like India, where influencing is an 'art' than charisma, young minds falls to several pits while growing up and this leads to addictions, towards negative, unsocial, unethical behavior and practices. Earlier, smoking, drinking, drugs, gambling were considered the only addictions young people could get into, but now the level of getting addicted towards something has entered into newer dimensions. Here's what young Indians are dealing with today:
1. Internet Addiction

Just like internet, playing video games is another serious addiction young Indians are getting into unknowingly. Today access to budgeted gaming consoles and devices and wider availability of online and mobile games (a majority of which offers free play) has led to this addiction. Plus, it never always boredom to set its foot near you.
3. Addiction of Using Social Media Apps

You may have some of your friends who are always there on the popular social media apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, no matter what time of day it is. And they're always there waiting for someone to strike a conversation. A lot of people have been fired from their jobs and had troubles in their home affairs because of this.
4. Selfie Addiction

5. Fitness Addiction

The constant feeling of outdoing their peers, young (especially men) are exerting too much pressure on their bodies. And just like everything mentioned above, you too have one such in your friend's circle or may be you're one too. Also thanks to their role models (who unlikely have a profession to sustain and thus do this).
6. Addiction of Making More Money

The feeling of becoming a billionaire before 25 or 30 is driving this souls to pick up any means they want. Money is also the string that pulls almost every major crime in this world, that's because it's addictive!
7. Sex Addiction
Though you might find people from the metros talking more about this stuff than other smaller cities, sex addiction is slowly taking young people in its grip. The rise of MMS scandals, sex rackets, tainted spas and "massage" parlours is just few examples that have come out, who know what all would appear next? Sex addiction has ruined marriages and families and it's not just the younger generations we're talking about - bureaucrats, movie stars, doctors and everyone else has fallen to this menace.
8. Addiction of Acquiring More Knowledge
RediffAcquiring knowledge is supposedly a good thing, but what happens when your ego comes in between? The feeling of outdoing your peers and friends in terms of gaining newer information and getting ahead from others is a societal disorder. A person who is laughed at not staying updated, is the prime potential of such an addiction.
9. Addiction Towards "Chalta Hai" Attitude
Scientists say that if you do an activity for 21 consecutive days, it will become a habit for you. Overdoing the habit will become an addiction. Almost 99.99% of us have done or are facing this addiction now - littering your society, lying, not obeying the traffic rules, eve teasing, bribing, filthy commenting, spitting and pissing in the public and more. The list is actually endless.
