There's something special about the women born on November 19
- they are bold and independent who have not failed to make it big! It is the birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi
, the lady who stuck to fame with her westernized hippy role in Hare Krishna Hare Ram, Zeenat Aman
and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen
They are perfect examples of clutter-breakers of extraordinary dimensions. The lady who made it big in politics by being the only woman to hold the PMO and the beauty pageant holders cum actresses have very well redefined the portrayal and power of woman. Here's why we should look up to these women who broke the mold, and all for the good:
No heroine would have dared to carry her face all scarred and her body more exposed, but we had Zeenat Aman who romped across in Satyam Shivam Sundaram with a couldn't-care-less grace.
Playing the other woman with the added oomph factor, picking a role without bothering about the length or be it about portraying the role of a prostitute, Sushmita boldly took them up all!
Beautiful and Sassy Crown holders
Both Zeenat Aman and Sushmita Sen made it big before choosing acting as a career; the former won the Miss Asia Pacific in 1970, while the latter went ahead to be crowned Miss Universe in 1993.
Unlucky in matters of the heart
While on one side, success kissed their feet, they were both not-so-lucky in their love life. Zeenat's tumultuous relationship with Sanjay Khan is known to all, where she faced violent physical abuse losing the vision of an eye. Well, even her second marriage with Mazhar Khan didn't quite bring her happiness.
Sushmita Sen has had 7 (disappointing) relationships, linked with Vikram Bhatt and having dated Wasim Akram and Randeep Hooda to name a few. But the glamorous Diva has no regrets and is still to find her perfect match.
Even after having had an unsuccessful marriage and relationship troubles, Zeenat took life with a welcoming nature and a positive charm. she brought up her kids, Azaan and Zahaan, and as a doting mother, said that she too wants someone special in her life now but is waiting for her sons to settle down.
Sushmita, unlike any other actor her age (read 25) who would have only thought of career and power, adopted a baby girl, Renee. Now, she lives with Renee and Alisha, another child who she adopted in 2010.
We must say both of them have handled life gracefully without a man in heir lives!
While winning a beauty pageant is not uncommon these days, it is interesting to know that Zeenat Aman was the first South Asian woman to win the Miss Asia Pacific title. Likewise, Sushmita Sen was the first Indian to win the Miss Universe crown.
