President's Rule imposed in Maharashtra

news

President's Rule has been imposed in Maharashtra as the political stalemate continued in the State. President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent in this regard a short while ago.

The Union Cabinet met in New Delhi to discuss the political situation in the State and recommended the President's Rule in Maharashtra.

Earlier today, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari submitted a report to the Centre, recommending imposition of President's Rule in the state.

The move came in the wake of the fact that no party was in a position to form the government even after 18 days of declaration of Assembly elections results. (AIR NEWS)
