In Punjab, two Rajya Sabha MPs from Congress Pratap Singh Bajwa and Shamsher Singh Dullo have demanded the Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate inquiry into the Hooch tragedy.
They met the Punjab Governor yesterday and demanded an inquiry by CBI and ED claiming that liquor mafia is operational in Punjab. Referring to Khanna, Rajpura, and Ghana the duo alleged the illegal distilleries are functioning in Punjab.
In a letter submitted to the Governor, both said, the Chief Minister does not know, what is happening in his home district. Raising questions on Excise and Police officers, they said, the officers of Excise and Police Departments are not aware of it.
They said the fair inquiry is not expected from the officers of these departments. They said that FIRs are being registered in various districts from the last few days but the real culprits are not being booked. (AIR NEWS)
