The second meeting of the Framework Working Group of the G-20 Finance Track began in Chennai today. The first session was on the global economic situation and the presentation from various countries on the financial situation. The second session will be on inflation and risk issues.
Speaking to the media many members expressed satisfaction and happiness with the arrangements. The UNCTAD representative from Switzerland Alejandro Federico Izurieta Canova said that he was impressed by the hospitality and generosity of the people. He told that the deliberations were on the global economic outlook and intricate financial risks like responses of central banks to inflationary pressures and monetary policies trying to control inflation.
Over 80 delegates from G 20 member countries and various international and regional organizations are participating in the meeting. The outcome of the discussions of the Framework Working Group of the G-20 Finance Track will be recommended to the G-20 finance ministers and Central Bank Governors who will be meeting in Washington DC on April 12 and 13 this year.
