Severe cyclonic storm Mocha to make landfall at Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh on May 14

The effect of severe cyclonic storm 'Mocha' will be indirectly felt in Tripura from today to the 16th of May, said the India Meteorological Department. Talking to Akashvani, Director, MeT centre Agartala Nahush Kulkarni said the severe cyclonic storm Mocha will make landfall at Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh and Sittwe in Myanmar tomorrow at noon. He said, there will be widespread rainfall in Tripura. However, heavy rainfall will be witnessed at isolated places in South Tripura, Gomati and Dhalai districts today.

Tomorrow, very heavy rainfall will be witnessed in North Tripura, Unakoti, South Tripura and Dhalai districts. He urged farmers to make use of 'Meghdoot' and 'Sachet' mobile apps for agriculture-related issues during the activity of severe cyclonic storms. Mr. Kulkarni also said, the neighbouring States of Mizoram and Manipur will also witness rainfall due to Mocha. He appealed to farmers to not leave their cattle for grazing as there will be thunderstorms as well. (AIR NEWS)
