Heatwave sweeping across Odisha has prompted the state government to advance the summer vacation for all educational institutions. Capital Bhubaneswar was the hottest place with 43.7 degrees Celsius.
The Met Department said the temperature yesterday soared above 40 degrees Celsius in at least eight places in the state.
In view of the prevailing heatwave, Special Relief Commissioner B P Sethi said that the summer vacation has been preponed for all educational institutions to April 18 from May 6.
Most parts of the state are likely to face soaring heatwave conditions for the next couple of days. (AIR NEWS)
