Amidst the political stalemate in Maharashtra, the Union Cabinet today discussed the political situation in Maharashtra this afternoon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the meeting before leaving for the two-day BRICS Summit in Brazil.
The meeting is understood to have discussed the report submitted by the state Governor, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari to the home ministry. He has recommended the imposition of President'sRule in the state.
The move assumes significance in the wake of the fact that no party is in a position to form the government in Maharashtra even after 18days of the declaration of Assembly elections results. (AIR NEWS)
