Uproar in Lok Sabha over claim of US President Trump on Jammu & Kasmir

Opposition members created uproar also in the Lok Sabha over claim of US President Donald Trump with regard to Jammu and Kashmir. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Congress leader Manish Tewari said, it is like a blow to the unity of India.

Mr. Tewari demanded that the Prime Minister should come to the house and clarify whether such a conversation took place between the two leaders over mediation on Jammu and Kashmir.

He also said, if it didn't, the Prime Minister should say that the US President is giving false statements. Echoing similar views, TMC leader Prof. Saugata Roy and DMK leader T R Ballu also demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarification.

Responding to it, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reiterated that no such request of mediation was made by Mr. Modi to the US President. When the Minister was responding, opposition created uproar in the house demanding Prime Minister’s clarification. Later, Congress-led opposition walked out protesting over the issue.

Earlier, as soon as the House met for the day, opposition members shouted slogans over the issue. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury while raising the issue said that India can not bow its head before anyone. (AIR NEWS)
