Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has said the United States would fail with its what he called warmongering. He warned that Tehran was ready to further reduce its nuclear commitments in response.
According to the government's Twitter account, Rouhani told a meeting of his cabinet that the Americans must understand that bellicosity and warmongering do not work in their favor, and both must be abandoned.
Meanwhile, Iran has rejected the possibility of a meeting between President Rouhani and US counterpart Donald Trump, after the White House signaled it was open to such an encounter.
Iran's representative at the United Nations reiterated President Rouhani's position in an interview published today by state news agency IRNA.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi said a meeting could take place only if Washington ends its what he called economic terrorism by lifting all of its sanctions against Tehran. (AIR NEWS)
