In Uttarakhand, the demolition of an unauthorized madrasa in Haldwani has triggered unrest, resulting in violent clashes between protestors and law enforcement. The district administration has imposed a curfew in the area and additional forces have been called in to enforce law and order.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a high-level meeting and ordered that peace and order be ensured in the area by taking strict action against the culprits of this incident.
Uttarakhand DGP Abhinav Kumar said, the situation was under control. He said, several police personnel and administration officials suffered injuries and have been admitted to hospitals. He said people behind the incident will be identified and action will be taken against them.
All schools in Haldwani including government, aided, recognized, CBSE, and Anganwadi centers will remain compulsorily closed today due to safety reasons. (AIR NEWS)
