Today is World Kidney Day. This Day is observed annually on the second Thursday in March to create awareness on the importance of the kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease.
The theme this year is Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere, which calls for universal health coverage for prevention and early treatment of kidney disease. Several events are being held across the country on the occasion to raise awareness about kidneys and highlight that diabetes and high blood pressure are key risk factors for Chronic Kidney Disease.
