Wrestlers Ravi Dahiya, Vinesh Phogat and Naveen bag Gold medals at Commonwealth Games

In the Commonwealth Games, India added four gold and three silver medals yesterday, raising the overall tally of medals to 40. Indian Wrestlers dominated the event with another hat-trick of gold medals in wrestling as Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Vinesh Phogat and Naveen won the yellow metal in their respective categories.

Star Indian para table tennis player Bhavina Patel also won a gold medal in the women's singles class 3-5. While another Indian para table tennis player Sonalben Manubhai Patel got bronze medal in the women’s singles Classes 3-5. Earlier, Indian men’s hockey team defeated South Africa 3-2 to reach final, and secured another medal for the country. They will face either Australia or New Zealand in the gold medal match. Earlier yesterday, India also added three silver medals in its kitty.

India has also confirmed four medals in boxing as four boxers will fight for gold today. Amit Panghal, Nitu Ghanghas, Nikhat Zareen and Sagar Ahlawat have reached the finals of their respective events. India has won 40 medals so far, which includes 13 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals. (AIR NEWS)
